NASCAR Race Weather Updates Rain Postpones New Hampshire Race

Mother Nature doesnt care about your race day plans. She really doesnt.

The NASCAR Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway got hit with weather delays today and honestly the scenes coming out of Loudon are rough. Rain started coming down early and just never let up.

Race officials made the call to delay the start multiple times before finally making the decision everyone saw coming. The track conditions just werent safe for racing. Period. You cant put drivers out there when theres standing water on the racing surface.

Fans who made the trip to the Magic Mile are dealing with the disappointment. Some paid good money for hotels and travel and now theyre stuck waiting. Thats the gamble you take with outdoor motorsports but that doesnt make it sting any less.

The teams are in a holding pattern too. Crews are keeping cars covered and dry while everyone waits for updates. Some of the smaller teams without big budgets are really feeling this because every delay costs money.

Weather in New England is always a wildcard this time of year. You can have perfect conditions one day and a complete washout the next. The forecast was showing chances of rain all week and unfortunately those chances became reality.

When racing does resume the track is going to be interesting. A wet surface that dries out creates different grip levels in different spots. Drivers will be feeling out the track all over again.

For now its just a waiting game. Keep checking back for updates as we get them. Rain delays are part of racing but they never get easier to deal with especially when youve been looking forward to race day all week.
