Lenny Dykstra Alleges Mass Mets Conspiracy In Ron Darling Rant

Baseball stadium

Oh man. Lenny Dykstra just will not let this Ron Darling thing go. The former Mets outfielder went off again on another tirade against his ex-teammate, this time alleging some massive conspiracy involving basically the entire organization. Its getting real wild.

The beef started when Darling published his book “108 Stitches” back in 2019. In it he claimed Dykstra hurled racist insults at Red Sox pitcher Oil Can Boyd during the 1986 World Series. Dykstra sued for defamation. A judge threw the whole thing out, basically saying Dykstras reputation was already so damaged it couldnt be further injured.

The Judges Absolutely Brutal Assessment

Book pages

You gotta read what Judge Robert Kalish actually wrote. He said Dykstra was quote “infamous for being, among other things, racist, misogynist, and anti-gay, as well as a sexual predator, a drug-abuser, a thief, and an embezzler.” Thats not Darling saying that. Thats a JUDGE citing Dykstras own autobiography and public record.

In his book “House of Nails” Dykstra literally bragged about using steroids and blackmailing umpires. He served time in federal AND state prison for fraud, grand theft auto, other charges. Judge basically said the racist insult accusation even if proven couldnt make his reputation any worse than it already was.

Dykstras Response Is Really Something

Instead of accepting the L, Dykstra went on Instagram Live claiming its all a conspiracy. He alleges the MLB organizations like the Mets, the Wilpon ownership, even Darlings cancer diagnosis – all part of elaborate scheme against him.

“When you mess with Nails, you get the hammer” he said. Which is an actual quote from an actual person. Hes claiming Darling faked having cancer to avoid criticism about his book. This is where we are now.

What Former Teammates Say

Several former Mets including Darryl Strawberry, Dwight Gooden, Kevin Mitchell said they dont recall the racial taunts incident. Oil Can Boyd himself said he didnt remember Dykstra yelling slurs at him. But none of that makes Darlings account definitively false – memories from 33 years ago are fuzzy.

What nobody disputes is Dykstras post-baseball trajectory. Three-time All-Star who hit that iconic leadoff homer in Game 3 of the 86 Series went from baseball hero to convicted felon. Just documented fact. The lawsuit is dead. Conspiracy allegations are wild. And Lenny Dykstra remains one of the most complicated figures in Mets history. Which is saying something for that organization.
