Stefon Diggs Facing Felony Strangulation Charges and Man This Came Out of Nowhere

Yo what the hell.
Stefon Diggs. THE Stefon Diggs. Patriots best receiver. Drake Mayes favorite target. Dude whos been balling out all season helping New England actually look good for once.
Felony strangulation charges. Misdemeanor assault and battery. Coming out of Dedham District Court on Tuesday and nobody saw this coming.
The court documents say on December 2nd, day after the Patriots beat the Giants on Monday Night Football, Diggs allegedly smacked a private chef during an argument about money she says he owed her.
The woman claims she was owed a months salary after being sent home for a week in November because Diggs was having house guests. They were texting about it. He came into her unlocked bedroom. “Smacked her across the face” according to the documents. Then allegedly “tried to choke her using the crook of his elbow around her neck.”
She says she had trouble breathing. Felt like she could have blacked out.
Man.
Diggs is denying everything. His lawyer put out a statement saying the allegations are “unsubstantiated, uncorroborated, and were never investigated because they did not occur.” Says its crystal clear this is about “an employee-employer financial dispute that was not resolved to the employees satisfaction.”
CBS Sports has him scheduled for arraignment January 23rd. Two days before the AFC Championship Game. Talk about timing.
The Patriots released one of those team statements. “Stefon has informed the organization that he categorically denies the allegations. We support Stefon.” Will cooperate with authorities and the NFL. No further comment given ongoing legal matter.
The NFL said its aware and in contact with the club. Standard boilerplate.
Look I’m not gonna sit here and play judge. Innocent until proven guilty. Always. But this is ugly no matter which version of events you believe.
Diggs has 82 catches for 970 yards this season. Thirty yards away from his seventh 1000 yard season in eight years. Been the best thing about this Patriots run. The chemistry with Maye has been real.
And now this.
The police report says the woman had redness on her chest but officers didnt photograph it. She quit after the alleged incident. Went to police December 12th after Diggs allegedly told his assistant to have her sign an NDA before getting paid.
She didnt sign.
This isnt even Diggs first headline this year. That video of him with unidentified pink substance on a boat during OTAs made the rounds. Patriots handled it internally. He was ready Week 1.
Different ballpark now obviously. Felony charges are serious serious.
The Patriots play Miami this weekend. Final game of the regular season. Whether Diggs suits up… nobody knows yet. The legal process will take months. The court of public opinion moves faster.
Hate this for everyone honestly. If he did it hate it for the victim. If he didnt hate it for him. Either way something really bad happened and were all gonna be watching it play out in public for a long time.
