Hocus Pocus 2 Brings Back the Sanderson Sisters and Actually Doesn’t Suck

Okay look I was PREPARED to hate this movie. Twenty-nine years between the original and a sequel? On Disney Plus? Every nostalgia bait warning sign was flashing. But Dios mio, they actually pulled it off. Hocus Pocus 2 is… good?
Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy are back as the Sanderson Sisters and watching them slip back into these roles is worth the subscription by itself. NBC News noted that while the original was actually a flop, the sequel shows why Disney has become an entertainment powerhouse.
Three teenage friends accidentally light the Black Flame Candle again and bring the witches back on Halloween night. The new kids are fine. But were here for Winifred being extra, for Mary sniffing for children, for Sarah being delightfully unhinged.

Is it perfect? No. The IMDB page shows a 6.0 rating with mixed reviews. But I smiled the whole way through. I laughed out loud. I felt genuine emotions during the ending.
The streaming platform competition for holiday content means Disney needed this to work. They delivered. If you loved the original, youll probably love this.
