Aaron Taylor-Johnson Birthday: Some Interesting Facts You Didn’t Know About the Actor

Movie premiere red carpet

Okay so Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s birthday is June 13th and honestly this man has had one of the wildest career trajectories in Hollywood and I feel like we don’t talk about it enough???

Born in 1990 in High Wycombe, England (which, side note, is apparently a very “rubbish area outside of London” according to the man himself), Aaron started acting when he was literally SIX YEARS OLD. Six! I was still eating crayons at six! He was on stage at the Queen’s Theatre playing Macduff’s son in Macbeth alongside Rufus Sewell.

Here’s something that blew my mind – he was considered for the role of Spider-Man in The Amazing Spider-Man but lost out to Andrew Garfield. Which is wild because now we’re seeing all this James Bond speculation around him. From almost being Spidey to potentially being 007? Sir.

The whole Sam Taylor-Wood thing – look, I know people have Opinions about this but they met on the set of Nowhere Boy when he was 18 and she was 42 and they’ve been married since 2012 and have two kids together. He literally took her last name and hyphenated it which honestly? King behavior. He also adopted her two daughters from a previous marriage.

According to his biography, he got his Golden Globe for Nocturnal Animals in 2016 for playing this absolutely TERRIFYING character and didn’t even get an Oscar nomination for it. First person since Richard Benjamin to win a Supporting Actor Globe without getting the Oscar nod. The Academy was wrong for that.

Fun fact: he has a black belt in Krav Maga from training for his action roles. Also does most of his own stunts because apparently regular acting isn’t enough excitement.

He went to the Jackie Palmer Stage School where he studied drama, tap, jazz, ACROBATICS, and singing. The man is literally trained in everything. His birthday facts page shows he’s a Gemini which… honestly tracks with how versatile he is.

The weirdest fact? He turned down the role of Eggsy in Kingsman: The Secret Service. Can you IMAGINE a different version of that movie? Taron Egerton got it instead and the rest is history but still. Wild.

More about his fascinating career here.

Happy birthday to one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood tbh.
