Fallen Capitol Officers Partner Reveals What Shed Say to Trump Now

capitol building washington dc police officer

The partner of a Capitol Police officer who died after January 6th shared what shed say to Trump if given the chance. Its not pretty and it shouldnt be.

Sandra Garza lost her partner Brian Sicknick who collapsed after defending the Capitol during the insurrection. She has become a vocal advocate for accountability.

CNN interviewed Garza about her grief and her message to political leaders.

Her words carry the weight of loss. When she speaks about that day its not political theory. Its the worst day of her life. That tends to cut through partisan noise.

Political accountability takes many forms. Sometimes the most powerful is simply hearing from those who paid the price.

She wants acknowledgment of what happened. Not spin not minimization not pretending it was just tourists taking a walk. Officers were hurt. Officers died. The Capitol was breached.

Whether her words change any minds is doubtful. People who support Trump have shown remarkable ability to dismiss anything that contradicts their narrative. But she keeps speaking anyway.

Some things need to be said even if no one listens. The historical record needs voices like hers documenting what happened and who suffered because of it.
