New Mexican Police have reported that Singer Kylie Rae Harris was drunk and driving before the fatal car crash. The car crash killed Kylie Harris and 16 years old Maria Elena Cruz.
The Taos County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a press release that Kylie Harris was drunk behind the wheel. She was driving the car at incredibly high speeds due to which her vehicle collided with two others on Sept. 4.
In September Harris was traveling south on State Road 522 in a black Chevrolet Equinox. There, Harris car struck a black Chevrolet Avalanche from behind.
After the collision, Harris’ vehicle sent into the northbound traffic lane. Then she collided head-on with Cruz’s white 2008 Jeep, which was traveling north on SR 522 at the time.
Alcohol consumption was suspected and high speed was a factor
According to data, at the time of the first collision Harris’ speed at 102 miles/ hour. And she strikes Ms. Cruz’s vehicle at 95 miles/hour.
Moreover, Harris’ blood alcohol concentration was .28, which is three times the legal limit for impaired driving. However, the driver of Elena Cruz had no alcohol in her system at the time of the crash.
Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe said that completed investigation is also suggested the same as our initial investigation. At the time of the accident, the suspect was drunk and speeding was a factor.
When Harris’s family received the report of Toxicology. They deeply regret the fact that alcohol contributed to the loss of two lives. However, the family endures the heartbreak of losing a child.
