NBA star Kevin Durant is sick of 'idiot' Charles Barkley

The longstanding feud between Nets star Kevin Durant and hoops Hall of Famer Charles Barkley may never end.

In response to Barkley saying that athletes “deserve some preferential treatment” with coronavirus vaccines because they pay high taxes, Durant responded on Instagram, “I don’t know why they still ask for this idiot’s opinion.”

The NBA has said it won’t jump the line to get its players inoculated.

On Friday, Durant appeared to take another shot at Barkley, writing on Instagram, “Them old heads need to go enjoy retirement.”

Durant was responding to a social media post that asked why players today are “so sensitive” when given constructive criticism by legends of the game.

Barkley, an analyst for TNT’s “Inside the NBA,” has been a critic of Durant ever since the 32-year-old forward signed with the Golden State Warriors in 2016 — a move bemoaned by many because the former MVP was joining a team that won 73 games the season prior.

Durant won two championships in three seasons with the Warriors before signing a four-year, $164 million contract with the Nets in 2019.

Earlier this season, Barkley told Durant’s teammate and close friend Kyrie Irving to “shut the hell up and talk basketball” after Irving temporarily boycotted the media.

A week later, Barkley conducted a postgame interview with Durant, who showed his displeasure with the 57-year-old by holding his head down and responding with one-word answers.
