Man shot at memorial for slain Brooklyn rapper KJ Balla

Bullets rang out Thursday at an afternoon memorial for rapper KJ Balla in East New York, leaving one man shot in the leg, cops said.

The gunfire erupted at 790 Eldert Lane around 1:30 p.m., cops said. The injured man was taken to Brookdale Hospital and expected to survive, cops said.

An armed suspect was taken into custody, cops said.

The violence came during a tribute for the rapper, whose real name was Kennedy Noel, 23. Noel was killed in a drive-by shooting in the same neighborhood on Friday.
