Man shot after confronting group of men jumping on his car

A 37-year-old man who confronted a group of hooligans jumping on his car in Bedford-Stuyvesant wound up with a bullet in the chest for his troubles, police sources said Tuesday.

The violent encounter unfolded just before 2:30 a.m. Monday when the victim spotted the group of men on his car in the parking lot at 953 Dekalb Ave. and asked them what they were doing, sources said.

One of the men then pulled a gun and shot the 37-year-old twice, once in the chest, before the group scattered, sources said.

The man was taken to Kings County Hospital where he is expected to survive, police said.
