A Queens gangbanger was busted Wednesday for allegedly slamming into a 4-year-old on an illegal motor bike — and law enforcement sources said he was racing at the time of the hit-and-run.
Argenis Rivas, 29, was nabbed thanks to a tip stemming from a TikTok video in which he shows off his injuries and then callously blames the critically injured kid’s parents for letting him run out, sources said.
Jonathan Beauchamps was hit while he played in the Meadowlake Trail parking lot at Flushing Meadow Park at about 5:45 p.m. Sunday, police said.
The child was flung in the air, suffering a broken ankle and bruises to his liver and lungs, his father and stepmother told The Post.
Dad Chris Beauchamps said Tuesday before Rivas’ arrest that he believed the man who left his son critically injured must have been riddled with guilt.
How can you hold the guilt inside you and watch this on the news and see a 4-year old that you hit?
“He knows he wants to turn himself in, but he’s scared,” Beauchamps, 30, said of the rider. “It’s eating him inside. I know that’s eating him inside.”
Jonathan had been steadily improving but was still in the hospital as of Tuesday.
Rivas is charged with reckless endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident, endangering the welfare of a child, operating a vehicle without insurance and operating an unregistered motorcycle, sources said.
He is a member of the Trinitarios street gang and has six prior arrests, according to sources.
Rivas said nothing to reporters as he was escorted in cuffs to a police vehicle at the 110th Precinct on Wednesday.
