A 31-year-old man was shot inside a Brooklyn bodega late Tuesday — one of four people struck by gunfire across the city that day.
The victim was blasted once in the torso and twice in the arm inside the Halsey Convenience Store on Halsey Street near Broadway in Bushwick around 11 p.m., cops said.
He was taken to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, and police described him as uncooperative.
The motive for the shooting was not immediately clear.
Two people were fatally shot in Staten Island Tuesday — 34-year-old Cedric Black who was gunned down around 5 p.m. on Jersey Street near Carlyle Street in New Brighton; and Sean Dallas, 29, who was blasted in the chest and arm just after 8:45 a.m. on the corner of Grandview Avenue and Arlington Place in Mariners Harbor.
Tuesday’s earliest shooting happened just after midnight, when a 19-year-old man was shot in the right leg on Avenue D near East 8th Street in Alphabet City, on the grounds of the Riis II Houses, according to cops and police sources.
He was taken to Bellevue Medical Center, and told authorities that he was walking with a woman when he heard shots and felt pain.
On Tuesday’s date in 2019, a Sunday, four shootings were reported with five victims — one more than this year, according to preliminary numbers released by cops.
By Wednesday afternoon, no shootings were reported in the five boroughs — a shift from the recent citywide surge in shootings.
