Kayla Harrison Annihilates Courtney King in a Bloody Invicta FC Debut

It was a dream debut for Kayla Harrison at the Invicta FC’s 145 division. Harrison, PFL Lightweight Champion, annihilated Courtney Kings in a brutal and bloody war. She claimed a second-round TKO at the Invicta FC 43 event held at Police Athletic League, Kansas City.

The 30-year-old Harrison is undefeated in her pro-MMA career. As PFL could not hold any event in 2020 due to COVID-19, they allowed her to compete in this promotion. She might return to PFL in April ’21 as she is interested to fight in Invicta FC one more time.

Ariel Helwani on Twitter stated, “This is the face of the women who is fighting Kayla Harrison right now, Courtney King.”

In PFL, Harrison is not allowed to use elbows but in her recent promotion, Invicta FC, she isn’t prohibited from doing so. The undefeated fighter put in an impressive performance altogether. She showcased both her power striking and wrestling abilities.

She began round 1 with kicks to the body and legs. Harrison went for a ground-and-pound and mauled King with terrible elbows to the face. As a result of her merciless assault, blood oozed out of King’s face and onto the canvas.

Harrison made a huge cut on King’s nose and even went for an armbar before round 1 ended. She pressurized her opponent with heavy attacks and forced her up against the fence, winning it in round 2 via punches.

Should UFC sign Kayla Harrison?

Harrison is unbeaten in her eight-fight pro MMA career and has six finishes to her name. The ‘Doug’ has also won the Olympic-Gold Medal twice in Judo and considered one of the brightest prospects in MMA right now.

She fights in the lightweight division of the PFL, but the UFC does not possess a lightweight division for female fighters.

Conceivably, she can move a notch down to fight in the featherweight division of the UFC and can be a prime contender to touch gloves with Amanda Nunes.

With her current undisputed and undefeated streak, Harrison can be a sure threat to any female fighter in the world. Share your thoughts on Harrison’s performance against King. Who can be a potential match-up to her in the UFC?
