Don’t look at the numbers. When it comes to this 31-year-old version of Kemba Walker, look at the victories.

So says his former AAU coach Emanuel “Book” Richardson, who guided the Bronx-born point guard when he played for the famed New York Gauchos program during high school in 2006-2008.

Through Walker’s first 17 games as a Knick, it doesn’t take James Naismith to realize this isn’t the same player who notched four All-Star appearances from 2017-20. Not at his age. Not while managing an arthritic left knee.
