“Don’t Feel Exhausted“: Novak Djokovic Prioritizes to Win More Majors After Australian Open 2021 Successs

Novak Djokovic has been on the up and up since he won his maiden Grand Slam title at the 2008 Australian Open. Now, 18 Grand Slams and nine Australian Open titles later, he still looks forward to winning more.

Last Sunday, the Serbian World No. 1 defeated the Russian force Daniil Medvedev to win the 2021 Australian Open. This feat made him the ninth oldest and the third active male player to win a Major.

However, the 33-year-old is still a breath of fresh air when it comes to playing tennis. Moreover, even he feels that he can keep running to win the G.O.A.T. race with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

In comparison with the Swiss maestro and the Spanish machine, Novak Djokovic is the youngest as well as the fittest. Additionally, he is an all-court player which favors his odds in the G.O.A.T. race.

Above all, he feels active and energetic to do the same damage as he could do 10 years ago.

“Age is just a number, so I don’t feel tired or exhausted from playing tennis, competing at the highest level. I know that, realistically, things are not the same as they were 10 years ago in terms of energy and biology and everything. But I feel like I still have a lot of gas in me,” the Serbian ace said.

Following that, he mentioned the importance of scheduling his tennis calendar. He said that he will need to be wiser to direct his energy into the tournaments that matter the most.

Djokovic then expressed his ambition as he goes forward in the 2021 season. He said, “Hopefully I will be able to win more majors, that’s something that I’ll definitely look forward to as a priority.”

Considering that Djokovic has won half of his overall Grand Slam titles at the Australian Open, it is quite a concern. However, he has reached nine semifinals in every major tournament, making him the only player to do so.

Therefore, he is always a big favorite in every Slam. Also, he is currently in his 309th week as World No. 1, a week away from equaling Federer’s record.

To sum up, the Serbian ace has yet again got a great start to his season. Hopefully, he will fulfill the ambitions that he has set up for himself.
