A 4-month-old girl from a migrant family died after she was discovered unconscious inside a Midtown hotel Thursday, police said.
The infant was found not breathing when the NYPD responded to a call at 7:30 a.m. for an unconscious child inside the Stewart Hotel on Seventh Avenue near West 31st Street — which has been used to house asylum seekers, authorities said.
The girl — whose family arrived from Ecuador in January — was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
There were no obvious signs of trauma, and police do not suspect any criminality.
An autopsy will be conducted Friday, cops said.
At the same hotel earlier this month,10 unruly migrants were busted on assault and disorderly conduct charges after getting into fights and filing complaints against each other, the sources said.
During a recent radio appearance, Mayor Eric Adams said that an average of 300 to 550 migrants are arriving in the city each day — with a total of 900 asylum seekers in a single day last week.
Hizzoner also warned that the influx of new arrivals will cost over $4 billion.
Those comments came just one day after he slammed the New York City Council for its apparent lack of support in tackling the surging migrant crisis.
“We’re not going to be disrespected,” the former NYPD captain said during the tense video conference.
“There is too much work that needs to be done. My team has sacrificed too much time, energy and dedication to this city.”
